THERE has been a coronavirus related death recorded at Worcestershire's hospitals - the first announced in more than a month.

NHS England figures show the death was recorded at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. The county had gone 46 consecutive days without a Covid death announced by the NHS.

The announcement means the total number of coronavirus related deaths recorded in the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is now at 809.

There have been no further deaths at Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, with its total staying at 63.

The newly announced death means, in total, there have been 872 Covid-19 deaths in county hospitals during the pandemic.

And in all settings, including hospices and care homes, there have been 1,359 deaths.

The acute hospital trust covers Worcestershire Royal Hospital, as well as the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and Kidderminster Hospital.

The health and care NHS trust covers community hospitals and rehabilitation wards, including Worcester City Impatient Unit, Malvern Community Hospital, Evesham Community Hospital, Pershore Community Hospital, the Princess of Wales Community Hospital in Bromsgrove, Tenbury Community Hospital and the Wyre Forest Ward.
