MALVERN has inspired the art behind one of the magnificent elephant sculptures in Worcester's Big Parade.

Ash, by artist Ian Cook, who is also known as Popbangcolor, can be spotted outside Bishops Palace. The sculpture, sponsored by the Morgan Motor Company, is one of the 31 bigger elephant sculptures part of the parade and features the Malvern Hills within the artwork.

Mr Cook took to social media to present his work of art. The post, on Twitter said: "So here it is! The @morganmotor themed elephant created for this years @WorcBigParade. Created within the factory, the Morgan elephant has features from the iconic car models

"Including the 3-wheeler face, body a profile of a blue Morgan on a road with the Malvern Hills above".

Mr Cook, used a unique paint with cars approach that involves painting with radio-controlled cars, tyres and wheels and more recently continuous car drawings that draw an image in one line.

The sculpture is one of the 66 featured on the 6 mile trail. The parade, which started on July 13, can be enjoyed for the next eight weeks.

The elephants will then be auctioned off in farewell events on September 30 - October 3 and again from October 7 to October 10. The Wild in Art event has been brought to the city by St Richard’s Hospice.
