A HEATWAVE is set to hit England next month, with Worcestershire ending the month of June with highs of 21 degrees.

The Met Office has predicted "above-average temperatures" for the country in July, as Worcestershire finishes off the month of June with sunny spells and a chance of rain.

In the long range forecast for the UK for the end of June, the Met Office said: "Temperatures will be warm for most, though locally suppressed under the unsettled weather.

"Confidence is lower later in the period, although on balance a lot of fine and dry weather is most likely.

"Temperatures will most likely be above normal, with the potential for some very warm or hot days in the south"

In Worcestershire, Thursday and Friday are set to have cloudy skies, with warm temperatures of up to 20 degrees.

Saturday is expected to be dry, with a prediction of rain in the late afternoon, in to the evening and Sunday will see highs of 19 degrees.

Next week is due to be a scorcher for the county, as we end the month with dry skies and 21 degrees of sun.

The Met Office's long range forecast for the UK for July 7 onwards said: "Temperatures will most likely be above normal, with the potential for some very warm or hot days in the south.

"Winds will probably be light to moderate throughout, with a westerly flow across northern areas, and an Easterly flow across the south.

"Above-average temperatures continue to be well signalled, with the chance of some very warm or hot days to come".
