THE developers behind a multi-million pound care home in Malvern are holding an opening event for their showroom in the town.

Maria Mallaband Care Group is currently building the Windsor Court Care Home on the site of the old Malvern Community Hospital, and is inviting individuals and families to come and look at examples of the kind of accommodation available.

The showroom in Church Street contains examples of the furnishings and decor to be found when the home opens later this year.

Windsor Court Care home manager Zoe Miller said: “The level of interest in Windsor Court has been really high, with a number of rooms already spoken for, but there is a real appetite for more details.

“This is a great opportunity to offer people a real insight into what they can expect when we open our doors. I’m really excited to be able to share the vision we have for Windsor Court.

“We are creating something truly exceptional here; incredible facilities, the best team, the right ethos. We are building a vibrant, welcoming home where people can feel excited about beginning a fulfilling and happy chapter in their lives.”

Visitors to the showroom will be welcomed with refreshments, including a glass of prosecco, and have the opportunity to chat with the team, including the care home manager Zoe Miller, as well as the hospitality manager and other heads of department who are now in place.

Visitors can view the floor plans for the home, read the recent newsletter and ask any questions they have.

Every guest will also be given a voucher for a complimentary cream tea at the Windsor Court Bistro, to be redeemed when the home opens.

Windsor Court, on course to be opened this summer by the Maria Mallaband Care Group, will include 51-ensuite rooms, lounges, restaurants, and communal areas.

There will also be a bistro and bar, hair salon, and eight-seat cinema which will be open to the community as well as residents (Covid restrictions permitting).

The drop-in open event will be at the showroom at 14 Church Street, Great Malvern, WR14 2AY, on Saturday, May 22 from 10 am to 3 pm.

The private care home, designed for residential, nursing and dementia care, is under construction by specialist nursing home contractor Lawrence Baker Ltd.

As well as responding to the need for social care within the community, the new home is also expected to create jobs for up to 75 members of staff, including carers, qualified nurses and administrators.
