SCHOOLCHILDREN in Malvern have received a delivery of new books to help enrich their learning.

Pupils from Leigh and Bransford Primary School received their new books, a selection of works by well-known authors including Roald Dahl and David Walliams.

This was made possible by a donation from local councillor Paul Tuthill.

This meant the books did not cost the school a penny.

Headteacher Stuart Bill said: "We are incredibly excited to have this opportunity to build up our reading stock.

"These additional books have been very well received by our pupils who can’t wait to get stuck into them.

"As in many schools funds are extremely tight so this donation is most welcome and we would all like to thank Cllr Tuthill."

The new books will enhance stocks of engaging literature in the school library, as well as being used as targeted class and group readers.

At a time where some pupils have slipped back due to the disruption to education caused by the pandemic it is good to know that these pupils will have additional resources to help them make up lost ground.
