A MAN who smashed the wing mirror and wheel arch of another car in Powick has been fined after he drove off without reporting the incident.

Gagandeep Singh drove into another car in the village on October 23 last year, knocking its wing mirror off before driving off and failing to report the incident.

The 32 year-old, of Nuneaton, was pulling into a petrol station when he collided with another car, ripping off its wing mirror and damaging the wheel arch.

He failed to appear in court, so his guilt was proved in absence.

Magistrates fined Singh £440, ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £44 and court costs of £110.

His driving licence was also endorsed with five penalty points.

Nathan Palmer, 36, of High Trees Close, Redditch, appeared before magistrates in Worcester on April 21 charged with driving without due care and attention in the city on September 29 last year.

He was not present for his hearing, so his guilt was proved in absence by the court.

As a result, magistrates fined him £660 over the incident in Wainwright Road.

They also ordered him to pay a £66 victim surcharge and court costs of £110.

In addition, he was given five penalty points on his licence.

Another man found guilty of driving without due care and attention was Connor McKinlay.

The 26 year-old pleaded guilty to the offence, which took place in Evesham on June 21 last year.

On the day in question he was driving without a licence, and failed to stop after an accident in which he injured another person.

McKinlay, of Eckington Close, Redditch, also appeared before magistrates in the city on April 21, and was fined £520.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £94.97 and court costs of £200.

He was also banned from driving until he passes a driving test.

McKinlay was also sentenced for a separate offence of driving without a licence as well as driving without insurance, which took place on October 6 last year.

These offences earned him eight penalty points.
