A WOMAN from Evesham has been fined for assault.

On July 23 2020, Becky Layland assaulted a man by beating him in Welford-on-Avon.

Layland, 27, of Ivy Lane, Bretforton, initially pleaded not guilty to the charge but changed her plea to guilty on April 9 2021.

Layland was fined £180, ordered to pay compensation of £200, a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £200 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

A man has been fined for speeding on the M5 in Worcestershire.

On July 10 2020, Steven Wilson was caught driving at a speed exceeding 60 miles per hour on the M5, which exceeded a variable speed limit.

Wilson, 51, initially pleaded not guilty to the charge but changed his plea to guilty on April 9 2021.

Wilson, of Toll End Road, Tipton, West Midlands, was fined £100, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34, costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service and his driving record was also endorsed with three points.

Meanwhile, a woman has been fined for using threatening or abusive words or disorderly behaviour in Worcester.

On December 13 last year, Jayne Tilt, used threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress.

The verdict was proved in absence at Worcester Magistrates Court on April 12 2021.

Tilt, 33, of Clare Street, Worcester, was fined £60, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £200 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
