THE desperate owner of world’s biggest rabbit, stolen from the garden of her Stoulton home, has doubled her reward to help find him and says she has suspicions who the thieves are.

Darius, the famous bunny who holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest rabbit standing at 4 feet 4 inches tall, is believed to have been stolen from his enclosure on Saturday night, (April 10).

Owner Annette Edwards initially offered a £1,000 reward for his safe return earlier this week, but writing on social media she said: "Please please I am so upset.

"Can you bring my Darius back I am putting the reward up to £2,000.

"The police are doing their best to find out who has taken him. Darius is to old to breed now. So please bring him back."

The 69-year-old has also told The Sun newspaper that she suspects foul play.

“There are some very jealous people around," she told the paper.

“I have my suspicions who is behind this.

"I’m afraid to say it must be someone with prior knowledge. The thieves came over a farm fence, unbolted Darius’s large kennel, and took him from his secure area. Someone knew what they were doing. He was stolen to order.”

Ms Edwards has appeared a number of times in the Worcester News over the years, and became well know herself as a model after the mum-of-10 spent £10,000 on surgery, including breast and chin implants, to impersonate Jessica Rabbit from the 1988 movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

Over the years she has breeded a number of the world’s biggest rabbits, three prior to Darius.

In 2014 we reported that Darius, who has appeared on British television shows the Alan Titchmarsh show and Jimmy Carr show, jetted off to the Netherlands for seven TV appearances there.

And in 2018 Ms Edwards told the paper Darius was retiring as she wanted him to enjoy a less stressful life at home, and she was also following him into retirement.

She said at the time: “We’re still welcoming people to visit us both but we will not be doing anymore long journeys.

"Darius has had an amazing career and loves people but now he’s getting older he likes to relax. I’ve done glamour modelling for over 40 years and finally feel ready to lead a quiet life."
