A PR agency which left the bright lights of London behind for Malvern is celebrating an incredible year of business which has seen them go from a team of two to a team of 20 in a matter of months.

Sanity Marketing, based in Malvern’s Enigma Business Park, is led by partners Jordan Baker and Riley Gardiner.

The duo moved to the area during the height of the 2020 lockdown and have expanded their company rapidly in that time.

The PR agency’s success wouldn’t have been possible without “the area’s untapped talent pool” and Malvern’s “business-friendly opportunities” admits CEO Jordan, who has worked with Britney Spears and the House of Commons.

The current team is made up of 20 staff members, all based in the Worcestershire area. One of Sanity Marketing’s first hires was previously working on the front line and earning minimum wage but is now managing much of the firm’s PR activity and earns over £30,000 a year.

“There’s a lot of untapped potential here in Malvern and this has allowed us to expand so quickly. We’re hoping to have 65 team members by December generating £3.5 million in sales, and we’re certain that locals will be able to fill all those positions.” Mr Baker added.

“We decided to plant roots in this area, so in mid-2020 we started renting out an office at Open Space in Malvern. They’ve been great in allowing us to grow quickly, as we’ve gone from renting two units in July to occupying the entire ground floor of the building.”

“We’ve grown a bit too big for this building now, so we’re on the hunt for a larger office space in the area. We’re committed to staying local, so we’re eyeing up places like the Malvern Hills Science Park, for instance.”

Having worked with clients such as Joan Collins, Anytime Fitness and The Crown Plaza hotel chain, the agency is making its PR expertise more attainable for small businesses – ranging from start-ups born in the pandemic to established hospitality businesses looking to get an upper hand post-lockdown.

“We love being in Malvern,” said Riley Gardiner. “We’re really pleased with what we’ve achieved in the last 6 months and are really looking forward to building relationships with the local community and council.”
