AGE UK is appealing for donations of stock ahead of its shops re-opening in Worcester and Malvern Hills.

The charity is preparing to reopen its shops on April 12 but needs stock.

A spokesman said that the need to quarantine stock before it is prepared for sale and the consequent limitations on the amount that the charity has been able to take in has led to a shortage.

Duncan Albutt, the head of retail, said: “Our shops are very lucky to have huge support from our local communities and we would ask that if anyone has been organising or clearing out during lockdown that they consider donating items to us – whatever they are.

"We especially require furniture but also clothes, books, music, bric-a-brac, small electricals – you name it, we would welcome it.

"Under strict social distancing rules our van drivers will also once again be collecting stock. We are accepting donation collection requests now and we hope to commence collections from March 8, so please contact us to register your donation."
