A CARE centre in Upton Upon Severn is celebrating after it received a positive inspection.

The Boynes Care Centre received "good" ratings in its latest Care Quality Commission report and was praised for the atmosphere it creates.

Manager Sam Hughes said she was "incredibly proud" of her team for helping to make the daunting prospect of looking for a care home easier.

She said: "The loyal staff at The Boynes love coming to work and that is reflected in the wonderful atmosphere created for the residents living there.

"They know how to make the Boynes feel like home. If you have never visited a care home, it might be hard to imagine that your quality of life could be enhanced.

"No more sitting alone and watching television, unless of course that is what you choose to do.

"With so many varied activities on offer and freshly cooked, nutritious lunches and dinners you might be pleasantly surprised by the return of your zest for life.

"The most rewarding aspect of my role is seeing a new resident settle into the home and become one of the Boynes Care Centre family.

"I love seeing them make new friends, join in activities, or simply tell me they wish they had made the decision to move into our home sooner.

"I never want anyone living at the Boynes to feel alone and it is essential that my team get to know each person living here to be able to provide the care someone wants and needs."
