Many affected residents in nearby areas took to Facebook to report the power outage which has hit homes in St John’s and Hallow in particular.

Malvern Gazette:

The drive of the tractor was not hurt but has been stuck in his vehicle while Western Power Distribution and fire crews ensure any electricity is isolated.

A fire service spokesperson said: “There has been an road traffic collision on the Martley Road in Lower Broadheath,”

“A tractor has collided with an electricity pole. We are in attendance with three crews and we are working with Western Power Distribution to isolate the electricity so the uninjured driver can exit the vehicle.”

Western Power Distribution estimated 848 addresses had been hit by power cuts but all bar 42 are back on with the rest expected to be reconnected imminently.

It is the second power cut to hit the city today after up to 47 addresses were hit by "underground cable fault".
