LAST week saw a local homeless organisation become a member of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO).

The Cardon Banfield Foundation, which launched in July last year, applied to become a member of the Council which supports voluntary organisations in leadership and training. It works to respond to homelessness and helped obtain a Safeguarding Adults Review into the deaths of rough sleepers Cardon Banfield, Joby Sparrey and Remi Boczarski.

Chair of the Board of Trustees Ryan Atkins said: “It is a pleasure to be granted membership with the NCVO. The membership will allow the Cardon Banfield Foundation’s to continue to work towards its aim of responding to homelessness.

"Since gaining membership we have commenced work on writing our charity constitution as well as written many policies in order to ensure that we are following the minimum statutory requirements.

"I am honoured to be Chair of Trustees and work with people that share a passion of supporting those who are either at risk or are currently homeless.

"The hard work and dedication will continue with our Satellite Hub programme and other future projects."

The Foundation says on their website that they are formally registering as a charity this year.

They are also recruiting a “Satellite Hub Leader” for Worcestershire and those who are keen to find out more should go to www.cardonbanfield.org/satellite-hubs or email sophie@cardonbanfield.org.
