SPEEDING fines and driving bans were among the sentences handed out at Worcester Magistrates Court this week.

A Worcester man was caught speeding in the city, earning himself a fine.

Adil Perwez, of Dee Way, Worcester, appeared before magistrates on February 24 where he was charged with breaking the speed limit in Woodgreen Drive, above the 30mph speed limit.

38 year-old Perwez was caught speeding on November 11, 2019 and convicted in December 2020, though he was not sentenced until february this year. He pleaded guilty to the charge, and was fined £68 in addition to a £32 victim surcharge.

Magistrates also handed him three penalty points for his licence. A man caught speeding on the M5 has been fined and handed licence points.

21 year-old Heath Grasham was caught speeding on the M5 between junction 5 and 4a on May 21, 2020. Grasham, of Kendal Rise Road, Rednal, was fined £295 for the offence.

He was also ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge in addition to court costs of £110. Magistrates also endorsed his licence with four penalty points.

A Kidderminster man has also been fined after being caught speeding.

25 year-old Steve Smith, of Wilton Avenue, was found guilty of breaking the speed limit on June 6 last year and was fined £80. He must also pay a £34 victim surcharge and costs of £110 in addition to being handed six penalty points.

A woman who broke the speed limit near Malvern has been fined. Tina Silcox was driving in Leigh Sinton on May 17 last year when she broke the 30mph speed limit. The 57 year-old pleaded guilty to the charge when she appeared before magistrates in Worcester on February 24.

Magistrates decided to fine Silcox, of Hagley, £100 in addition to three penalty points for her driving licence.
