VOTING has opened in our competition to find Malvern’s top takeaway.

During the pandemic many restaurants have adapted to offer a takeaway service in order to keep trading during the lockdowns, while some existing takeaways have seen a surge in demand as people choose to have a treat during this challenging time.

Our new award aims to recognise the efforts of those people who have worked tirelessly during the pandemic to offer quality takeaway meals, often providing a bright moment in dark days for their customers.

So, we want you, our readers, to tell us your favourite takeaway. Nominate them now at www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/J7KCKNP.

Voting closes on Wednesday March 3.

We will then announce the 10 businesses with the most nominations in next week's Gazette and then profile each one in the newspaper.

Then you, our readers, can vote which one will be crowned the Malvern Gazette Best Takeaway 2021 winner.

West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has welcomed the awards.

She said: “The hospitality industry has had a very difficult time over the last year and I’ve heard of some really innovative businesses that have adapted to offer their food in a very different way during the global pandemic.

“I have been keen to champion local businesses offering local produce and I welcome the Malvern Gazette’s efforts to recognise those businesses who have gone the extra mile to keep going and satisfy their loyal customers.”
