A MAN from Worcester has been fined for driving without due care and attention after his vehicle caused serious injury to a woman when reversing.

On August 7 last year, Biju Joseph, 48, was driving in New Street, Worcester, when he manoeuvred his vehicle to turn around and reversed and collided with a woman knocking her to the floor causing serious injury.

He pleaded guilty to the charges at Worcester Magistrates Court on February 17 2021.

Joseph, of Home Meadow, Worcester, was fined £80, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34, costs of £110, and his driving record was endorsed with six points.

Appearing at the court on the same day was Adrian Pop, who was fined and banned from driving for six months for driving without insurance.

Pop, of Lambert Road, Worcester, was caught driving a Ford Fiesta on Newton Road, Worcester, on May 5 last year without the right insurance.

Pop, 28, was proved guilty by single justice procedure, on November 26 2020.

Pop was fined £200, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34, costs of £110, and was banned from driving for six months.

A man from Evesham has also been banned from driving for six months after speeding on the M5.

Lammie Johnson, of Boat Lane, was caught speeding on the August 11 2020 while driving on the M5 Junction 26 to junction 25, Wellington,at a speed exceeding 70mph - his recorded speed was 140mph.

Johnson, 21, pleaded guilty to the charges in November last year and was convicted by Avon and Somerset Magistrates Court.

He was fined £120, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34, costs of £110, and he was disqualified from driving for six months.
