A TANNING salon has finally been revealed as the third mystery shop to open on a city retail park.

The new shop will join Costa Coffee and Greggs on Blackpole Retail Park in Worcester according to plans submitted to Worcester City Council.

The popular coffee and bakery chains announced they would be opening at the retail park when the plans were first put forward last year but the tenant of a third and final unit, which had been the subject of “confidential” discussions all year, had not be revealed until now.

Artist’s impressions of the three empty stores show three signs – a red ‘Coffee’ and blue ‘Bakery’ indicating Costa and Greggs – green ‘Sandwich’ signs had hinted a new Subway branch could also be opening.

Burger King ruled out a return to the city last year.

The stores would bring around 21 new jobs, according to the application.

The new units would be in a 397 square metre ‘pod’ next to the M&S Foodhall, which opened in 2019, replacing 31 car parking spaces.

Costa would move into the biggest space with Greggs taking over one of the other units.

The lost car parking spaces would be replaced elsewhere in the retail park.

Two outdoor seating areas outside Costa and Greggs would also be built.
