A MAN has been given a suspended sentence after he was caught with cocaine in Worcester and used or threatened violence towards another person.

Kyle Stanley was caught with cocaine while in Worcester last year.

He was charged with threatening or using violence towards another individual in Bromsgrove on the same day - March 15. Stanley, 24, of Goodwood Road, Bromsgrove pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine on November 4 2020, and changed his not-guilty plea to guilty for using threatening behaviour on January 18 at Worcester Magistrates Court.

He received an 18 week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months for using or threatening violence, and was also sentenced to a separate 18 week sentence, also suspended for 12 months, to run concurrently, for possession of cocaine.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £128, and to pay costs of £400 to the Crown Prosecution Service.The cocaine is to be forfeited and destroyed.

Also appearing at the court was Benjamin Aston, who was given a conditional discharge for threatening or abusive behaviour. The offence took place on September 5 2020 in Worcester. Aston, 36, of Back Lane South, Worcester, was given a conditional discharge for 12 months, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £22, and to pay costs of £135 to the CPS.
