MORE than 800 people with Covid-19 mentioned on the death certificate in all settings have died during the pandemic, latest data shows.

There were a further 62 Covid-19 deaths recorded across all settings in Worcestershire, in the latest week of data made available.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures, for the week ending January 8, show the deaths included 16 Worcester residents, nine in hospital and seven in a care home. Nine Wychavon residents died, eight in hospital and one in a communal establishment, while nine Malvern residents died, six in hospital, two in a care home and one in a hospice. Eleven Bromsgrove residents died, 10 in hospital and one in a communal establishment. Eight Redditch residents died, six in hospital and two at home, and 10 Wyre Forest residents died, seven in hospital, two in a care home and one at home.

This latest ONS data means that, in total, 811 people in Worcestershire classed as having Covid-19, had died up to January 8. A total of 103 Worcester residents have died including 55 in hospital, 39 in a care home, four at home, three in a communal establishment and two in a hospice.

A total of 181 people in Wyre Forest have died including 113 in hospital, 52 in a care home, 12 at home, two in a communal establishment, one in a hospice and one elsewhere.

A total of 175 Bromsgrove residents have died including 106 in hospital, 61 in a care home, four elsewhere, two at home and two in a communal establishment. In Wychavon 166 people have died including 92 in hospital, 54 in a care home, eight at home, seven in a communal establishment, four in a hospice and one elsewhere. A total of 116 people from Redditch have died including 92 in hospital, 19 in a care home, four at home, and one in a communal establishment.

And 70 people from Malvern have died including 41 in hospital, 25 in a care home, two at home, one in a hospice and one in a communal establishment.
