NOVEMBER was a turbulent month for the nation as a second national lockdown was introduced.

However, this wasn’t a deterrent for some criminals and trouble makers as 1824 crimes were reported in Warrington that month.

However, compared to last’s figures the number of crimes reported have increased by  16 per cent.

According to latest data from the Cheshire Constabulary, violence and sexual offences were the most reported Warrington crime in November (676).

Anti-social behaviour reports were also high (493) followed by public order offences (211).

Opposingly, reports of theft from a person (3) an possession of weapons (7) were the least reported offences.

The Warrington street with the most crime reports was Wellington Close where 13 incidents were reported; the majority of these reports were related to anti-social behaviour, violent and sexual offences and public order offences (four reports each).

Winwick Road and Hardy Street weren’t far behind and 12 crimes were reported on each street.

The street with the most reported burglaries in Warrington was Walnut Close; two burglaries were reported on this street in November.

Out of the 1824 reported crimes, 10 per cent are currently awaiting a court outcome.

In 198 reports no suspect has been identified and a further 974 are still under investigation.
