Taking part in Veganuary this year?

This campaign challenges members of the public to adopt a vegan lifestyle for the first month of the year.

If you are taking part in this challenge, it doesn’t mean you have to live off a diet of water and vegetables.

You can still enjoy some tasty food, as many restaurants are vegan-friendly have offer a variety of plant-based options.

Best of all, each one of these places is operating a takeaway and delivery service during the pandemic.

Here are five of the best vegan-friendly places to order from near Bradford:

Plenty At The Square, Thornton

Vegetarian café, Plenty At The Square, is only open for take away for during lockdown.

They are an eco-friendly company with sustainability at the heart of their business.

There are plenty of vegan options available at the café, especially when it comes to cakes and sweet treats; Millionaires Slice is just one option for vegans.

For something more savoury, consider a vegan Mezze Box which contains a “mouthwatering” selection of Middle Eastern treats.

MyLahore, Great Horton Road

According to Tripadvisor, MyLahore is one of the most top-rated vegan-friendly eateries in Bradford.

One person commented: “I am vegan and they have a beautiful mock chicken wrap and stir fry. The service and food quality was excellent.”

While the restaurant itself isn’t open during the pandemic, food can be collected or delivered.

You can tuck into your vegan Karahi, stir fry or wrap while the rest of your family and friends browse the meatier option.

Make sure to save room for pudding as the vegan Sticky Toffee Pudding looks delicious.

They are offering a food takeaway service which you can order through their website.

Vegans will be spoilt for choice this January, as there are so many mouth-watering food options available.

Homemade hummus and sourdough bread are up for grabs, as well as vegan chocolate chip cakes.

Excitingly, they also have a meal of the day and soup of the day which change regularly- so keep an eye on the website.  

Prashad, Drighlington

Prashad is an Indian restaurant which specialises in vegetarian and vegan dishes.

Prashad say they are “proud to support Veganuary” and are always looking for new ways to make more of their dishes suitable for vegans.

One happy Tripadvisor user commented: “Amazing service, brilliant choice of vegetarian and vegan curries and food was delicious. “

Another wrote: “The chutney tray was a pleasant surprise, the pumpkin dip was special… it’s such a shame I couldn't tease the recipe out of the waiter.”
