A LORRY has blocked a Worcester road after becoming 'immovable', causing a traffic jam.
The incident at Hylton Road near the Sabrina Bridge was reported to West Mercia Police at 1pm today. Police were not able to give any information as to what had caused the lorry to become stuck but a senior officer confirmed that a recovery operation was underway. The lorry involved is a Scania articulated lorry and was blocking both lanes near the bridge.
Inspector Liz Warner thanked the public for their patience during the recovery and added: "As far as we're aware a lorry is immovable. We don't yet no the reason for it. It should be moved soon."
One lane was closed going into Worcester from the Hallow direction with cones and signs put in place.
One witness to the congestion said: "It's causing chaos."
