SAMANTHA and Benjamin Cliff weren’t going to let the coronavirus stand in the way of their wedding day this year.

The couple, who live in St John’s, Worcester, originally had plans for a larger-scale version of proceedings but decided to go ahead with a smaller affair – and moved quickly.

Sam said: “We were so grateful to all of our family and friends, who threw a last-minute wedding together in less than two weeks!”

Sam wore what she called her “£50 back-up wedding dress” for the occasion at the beginning of September, which saw her tie the knot with Benjamin in a ceremony at Malvern Register Office.

The marriage was followed by a reception at Little Witley village hall.

Sam said: “The service itself was the best part of the day – I got way too emotional!

“All of our guests could watch us through the large window from outside as we were wed.

“Cancelling our big day that was planned was probably the hardest part of it all but it was perfect nonetheless.”

For a honeymoon, the couple enjoyed a narrowboat trip in the Brecon Beacons National Park, where they were overlooked by Pen y Fan, the highest peak in south Wales and appropriately, the place that the couple became engaged.
