A 42-year-old man accused of harassment had the case against him discontinued after a court learned he had died.
Martin Layland of Tanhouse Lane, Malvern was due to appear at Worcester Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with harassment without violence in Worcester between March 16 and March 19 this year.
The case had previously been adjourned as the court sought a medical certificate.
The clerk told magistrates on Tuesday she had a death certificate and proceedings against Mr Layland were declared void. She said he had died of hepatorenal syndrome and alcohol-related hepatitis at Worcestershire Royal Hospital on October 29 this year.
