Severn Trent said it is working with one customer on the issue about the tap water taste and wants to hear from anyone who is having issues.

A Severn Trent spokesperson said: “We’re currently speaking with one customer about the taste of their water, but we’ve not had any other contact or been made aware of any issues.

"If anyone has any concerns and would like to speak to us, then we’d like them to get in touch, and our water quality team will be happy to help.”

According to Severn Trent’s website, a metallic taste in the water supply could be a result of increased concentrations of copper or zinc, substances widely used in plumbing systems more so with longer pipe fittings found in flats blocks where the water is in contact with pipework for longer periods of time, leading to tainting.
