RESIDENTS living near a closed road say they are enduring “chaos” from turning HGVs.

The Dragons Cross Area of Leigh Sinton has reportedly seen vehicles willfully ignoring road closure signs on the normally busy A4103.

This has included heavy vehicles trying to turn round in the road where they meet the blockage, which is being caused by sewer works.

Reports include roadside hedges being damaged and the district councillor for the area has said something needs to be done.

Cllr Peter Whatley, who represents Alfrick and Leigh, said: “This appears to be another case of Highways providing inadequate indication of the road closure’s actual location.

“Simply saying “road closed ahead” some distance from the site isn’t good enough. We’ve been round this umpteen times with our County Councillor and Highways, but they simply don’t seem to learn from the sort of damage and discomfort Leigh Sinton’s residents have been forced to endure this week.”
