A HAIR and beauty salon in the city has been fundraising for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven.

In aid of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Journey Hair Beauty Aesthetics based in Copenhagen Street, Worcester, has been organising fundraising events throughout October to raise money for charity.

Journey are raising funds for the breast haven with a raffle, Christmas cards and breast cancer jute bags and also have created a pink October Service which involves a 60-minute Gaylia Kristensen facial treatment with an included take home product.

Each of these services that are booked and taken, Journey and Cozmetica UK – another local skin care business - are donating £10 directly to the Worcestershire breast haven unit.

The salon collaborated with their neighbours; Tripel B, The Oil Basin and The Sub Studio Photography to wear pink on October 14 October 23 and also to decorate the outside of their businesses with pink balloons to raise awareness.

Lloyd Baker, managing director, said: “It was inspiration, everyone knows someone.

“We have so much experience with clients that we serve supporting them as much as we can as they go through such a difficult time in their lives, mothers, daughters, sisters etc.

“We are so privileged to have the haven unit in Worcester, we all must do everything we can to support them. This year has been so difficult for all charities with not being able to do as many fundraising events, so we really wanted to support and with it being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, in addition to supporting breast cancer as a whole, being a city centre Worcester business, we made it a priority to support the WBUH.

“It’s up to us all to dig deep and support one another and we are all about community support too, so it was wonderful to join forces with all of our neighbours in Copenhagen Street; Tripel B, The Oil Basin and Sun Photography Studio.”
