What to do with your extra hour in Worcester this Sunday

For many, this will mean an extra hour in bed and a well-deserved lie in but some people might want to spend their extra hour more fruitfully.

Luckily, there are plenty of things to do right here in Worcester, from supporting small businesses to heading to some of the city’s beauty spots.

When do the clocks go back?

On Sunday 25th October at 2am the clocks will go back an hour.

This means that it will go back to 1am while many of us are likely to be sleeping.

Clocks on the majority of phones and laptops are likely to reset themselves- but don’t forget to manually adjust any clocks or watches or you might find yourself running late for any appointments.

How to spend your extra hour in Worcester

Do some online shopping

We might only be in October- but it’s never too early to get your Christmas shopping list started.

You could use your extra hour off doing some online shopping and gift inspiration- failing that, you could always treat yourself to an item or two.

However, have you also considered shopping locally and supporting smaller business with your shopping ventures?

Carve a pumpkin

With Halloween just around the corner, now is the perfect time to carve some pumpkins with the kids and start decorating you house.

While you could buy one from your local supermarket, another fun idea is to head down to your local pumpkin patch and choose your own pumpkin.

As well as regular orange pumpkins, there are also some white pumpkins to add to your picking collection.

Get some reading done

Sunday is the perfect time to rediscover your love of reading without the excuse of not having enough time as you have a whole extra hour.

There are plenty of local authors to consider when perusing the book shelves.

Go for a walk

While it might seem like a mundane way to spend your extra hour on Sunday, walking gives you a chance to explore some of the region’s best beauty spots.

If you’re looking for an easy walk that you can do in under an hour, then you have to try the Worcester City River Walk.

On this route, you find yourself heading around the cathedral and past Digils House Hotel- here you can stop for a quick pint and bite to eat.

Carry on the route and you will find yourself at the river, when you might be lucky enough to see the swans.

Escape from a room in sixty minutes

With your extra hour off why not try at something a little bit different?

With an escape the room game, you have sixty minutes to escape from a locked room by solving various puzzles.

Cyber Q Escape Rooms in Worcester is one great Escape Room venue on Lowesmoor Wharf, Worcester.

They have six escape rooms themes to choose from; Operation Deluge is one of the harder escape rooms and your role is to deactivate the ‘bombs’ before they explode.

For something more light-hearted and easier, Alice in Worcesterland throws you into the world of the Lewis Carroll novel.
