A MUM has spoken of her frustration at trying to get a coronavirus test after her family came down with Covid-19 symptoms. Helen Wood, from Pershore, said she has been trying to get a test for days without success. The 39-year-old said: “This whole testing system now is a complete lottery – if you get on the computer and apply at the right time, it works. “My six-year-old twins are both off school, after my son showed symptoms, then I did and then my daughter, and the children can’t go back until having a negative test. “I have been trying since Tuesday, filled it out 40 times one morning, but you get the no tests available message. “It is a disgrace. My husband works away, he is due back but as we are self-isolating do I tell him to stay away? “It might just be a cold, but without a test you don’t know. You just sit there trying, it is so annoying. I can’t understand why Sixways are not running more tests.” Many of our readers took to our social media to tell their stories of frustration. Beth Moss wrote: “I’m 32 weeks pregnant and have appointments that I’m supposed to have next week. “My son has woken up with a cold and we all have to isolate until we get a test. If I don’t get one in the next day or so I’ll have to cancel my midwife appointment.” Jamie Howes added: “We managed to get one in Droitwich after several attempts, the first option being Oldham. “Still no results back - that’s been about 50 hours now.” Brian Small said: “You go online and key in all the relevant information but then it tells you there are no bookings available. You go back to the phone line and get into the queue and as soon as you select an option you get cut off, whether you try drive through or home test. “This is simply disgraceful.”
