POPULAR floating canal markets will return to the waterways of Brierley Hill and Netherton from this weekend.

The annual Floating Markets, organised by the Roving Canal Traders Association, returns to the Black Country for people to browse one-off items and crafts from the towpath.

The market will be moored at the Merry Hill Embankment from Saturday, August 29 to Monday August 31.

It will later be based at the Bumble Hole in Netherton over the weekend of September 5 and 6 and takes place from 10am to 5pm on each day.

Traders will be selling an array of items from cheese and bug houses to painted canal wares.

Covid-19 safety measures will also be in place including hand sanitisation points and a limit to the number of people on the towpath at one time.

The markets are a hit every year, with traders travelling the waterways from across the country to take part.
