THE petrol station, shop and gym set to be built near Upton Upon Severn have been re-designed after residents and councillors complained about the proposed look.
The architects responsible for the building have submitted a new look for the building, this time a more traditional redbrick building as opposed to the glass fronted design from the initial plans.
An Upton Town Council spokesman said: “As many people will be aware, a new Budgens store will be built on the old Countrywide site on the Hanley Road.

“The architects have listened to local opinion and are proposing to change the the look of the building to a more traditional design.
“The top image is the original design and the lower image is the new proposed version.”
The petrol station on-site was due to open last week, but this was postponed after it was discovered incorrect parts for petrol pumps had been ordered.
The petrol station, on the site of the former Countrywide Store in Hanley Road will open when the issue is fixed, followed by a gym and apartment later on when the work is completed.
