A LAW firm which was established in 1892 is still going strong 128 years later, despite the challenges posed by coronavirus.

Russell and Co is the longest established law firm in Malvern. Based at Holland House, in Church Street, the company was established in 1892 to provide specialist legal services to the people of Malvern and the surrounding area. It was founded by Frederick Begat Russell, who was succeeded by his son Godfrey, and then by his sons Ivor and Jeremy Russell.

Between 1990 and 1996, the firm was part of the merged practice Russell and Hallmark before merging with Romney, Fraser and Ody in 1997 and with Davis Foster and Finley in 2004. In 2008, the firm became a limited company registered under the name Russell Malvern Limited and trading as Russell and Co Solicitors. In May 2019 it was bought in-house by four solicitors, securing the firm’s future. It is now run by four equal shareholder directors: Bally Sandhu, Victoria Knight, Scott Cammish and Emma Grantham and employs 23 staff, all specialists in their fields.

Despite the office being closed and staff working from home during the coronavirus lockdown, the company continued providing clients the full range of services.

A spokesman said: “We realised that more than ever, our people are Russell and Co, not just the building, not just the brand, but the people, an exceptional team of loyal and dedicated professionals in their field who, in the face of adversity, pulled together to secure the future of the firm and deliver the services and expertise our clients have come to expect.”
