Cumbria police have thanked members of the public after reporting a man having a mental health crisis.
It happened last night just before 10pm at Carlisle Cathedral.
The man, 42 was detained under the Mental health Act and taken for treatment.
A spokesman for the police said: "We would like to thank the two members of public who made us aware of a man having a mental health crisis at Carlisle Cathedral last night.
"The man was subsequently detained under The Mental Health Act and transported to Barrow’s Dova Unit where he will receive treatment."
