Malvern Theatres’ Covid-19 Emergency Fundraising appeal has reached an astonishing £80k in public donations.

When the theatre shut its doors in March, its income disappeared overnight and with no regular Government support, the theatre relies almost entirely on ticket sales to keep operating.

The theatre is hoping to hit the £100,000 mark soon, helping to secure the theatre through this dark time.

Chief executive Nic Lloyd said: “We are delighted and so grateful to have reached £80,000 in public donations - this money will help secure the theatre’s future in the face of this crisis.

“Malvern Theatres is at the heart of the town and we cannot wait to reopen our doors and connect our community once again.

“I’d like to thank everyone for their support so far and encourage our friends, audiences and local businesses to continue to champion our cause.
