POLICE called to a Blackburn street this morning found a drunk man damaging a property with a wooden bat.
Immediate response officers were called to Exeter Street at 2.25am and arrested a 31-year-old man from Blackburn on suspicion of causing criminal damage.
He remains in custody at Greenbank Station.
A police spokesman said: "Team one officers have arrested a 31-year-old male on suspicion of causing criminal damage.
"Officers were called to Exeter Street, Blackburn at approximately 2.25am to reports that a heavily intoxicated male was causing damage to property on the street using a wooden bat.
"Officers have attended the location and located the male who was still in possession of the weapon.
"He was promptly arrested and is now occupying one of the cells in the 'noisy' wing at Greenbank."
