A MALVERN based record label has been chosen to release a charity record for the NHS.

Mirror Noir Records, which was set up by Paul White and Mark Soden in 2017, has been selected to release the record created by Gordon Giltrap.

The Work of Angels, which features Gordon Giltrap on guitar and Paul Ward on keyboards, aims to raise money to support NHS workers across University Hospitals Birmingham.

Mr Giltrap, who has been a long-term supporter of University Hospitals Birmingham Charity, was inspired by the treatment that he received at Good Hope Hospital and he wanted to say thank you for the care that he received.

He said: "In November 2019 I spent seven days in hospital with pneumonia. I have had a few spells in hospital and each time I have been in awe of the work that doctors and nurses do.

"Whilst there the thing that struck me was that I was truly witnessing the work of angels.

"On my return home I felt compelled to express those sentiments in music. The end result was The Work of Angles, a joint composition between myself and Paul Ward, in dedication to these remarkable men and woman.

"During this troubled time, our appreciation of their work is magnified many times over, and you can help support these remarkable people and the NHS by purchasing a download of the piece, or better still by hitting the DONATE button in gratitude for all they do.

"Rest assured that every penny of the profits from the track will go straight to the hospital charity.

"I have been advised that the most favourable places from which to download are Amazon and iTunes.

"Thanking you all in advance for your generosity. “Be Safe. Be Well."

Cathryn Worth, fundraising manager at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity, said: "On behalf of everyone across University Hospitals Birmingham I would like to thank Gordon for releasing this beautiful track in support of our NHS angels.

"It is an incredible difficult time for our NHS, but donations to University Hospitals Birmingham Charity will help us to make life easier for our NHS Superheroes.

"By listening to The Work of Angels you can help us to provide those items that will make a difference in the coming weeks and months."
