MALVERN ANGELS 12PTS, NOTTINGHAM 17PTS

A VALIANT effort that should have seen this game finish in a draw, but the win was gifted to Nottingham in the final minutes of the game when they found a space on the far wing to slip through and score.

Malvern were unlucky to lose Babs Madsen in the early part of the game with a shoulder injury and then Laura Bradford at half-time with concussion. The weather added to the Angels woes and a distinct drop in temperature and a heavy drizzle made for hampered handling from both teams.

This did not allow the Angels to capilise on the work of the forward pack who generated some good rucking and mauling to relieve the opposition of the ball on several occasions. The inexperienced back-line struggled in open play and with only limited experienced players the result was inevitable.

Try scorers were SJ Warbrick and Babs Madsen with captain Debs Danby returning to her usual role and kicking a conversion.

Training Tues /Thurs at Spring Lane 7pm start. Junior Angels training Sunday mornings 10.15am.
