TWO years after Matthew Bone went missing in Worcestershire, his sister is urging the public not to forget about him.

Katie Bone, whose brother Matthew went missing in Callow End, aged 26, on March 9 in 2018, said the family is desperate to find out anything relating to his disappearance.

Speaking ahead of the second anniversary of his disappearance, she said: “It is really disheartening that there has been no progress made in finding him – it is really hard day by day not knowing where he is or if he is safe or alive.

“We don’t know how long this will go on for so we are still hoping the public can help by sharing the posters or just keeping his name out there. We are really worried people will forget about him, so we really want to keep his name and face out there.”

Miss Bone said it was vital for members of the public to contact the police if they think they have seen Matthew.

This weekend sees the family holding a charity walk with friends to raise money for the Missing Persons’ Charity, who have been helping them get through the heartbreak of the last two years.

Miss Bone added: “They are a great charity - they provide updates to the public and have helped us all with counselling so we really wanted to support them.”

Matthew travelled from Portsmouth to Worcestershire and checked into Stanbrook Abbey Hotel on Friday, March 9 in 2018. He has not been seen or heard from since.

Detective Inspector Beth Wells, of West Mercia Police, said: “Two years ago Matt went missing, and we believe this to be in Callow End area of Malvern. Our officers and Matt’s family continue to be extremely concerned for his welfare and we are urging anyone who may have any information about his whereabouts to come forward.

“At this time we have no information to suggest he left the Malvern area. Anyone who sees Matt or has any information about his whereabouts is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101.

“We hope that this re-appeal for information will bring in some fresh information, so please take a couple of minutes to look at the images and share these with your friends and families so that we can find Matt.”

Anyone with information can contact Missing People anonymously by calling 116 000, or by emailing 116000@missingpeople.org.uk or contact the police on 101.
