OXFORD 22PTS, MALVERN ANGELS 8PTS

AN under strength Angels team travelled away to Oxford for their third league game of the season.

After a tightly fought game, the home side eventually took over and ran out flattering winners.

Following some early season injuries the Angels have lost long term experienced players, who would have helped to bolster the numbers.

All credit to the new players and existing team members who despite the lengthy travel put up a good show of rugby to keep the points advantage low.

Malvern were slow to start but picked up the momentum in the second half with a try from Katie Singleton and an accurate penalty from Katie Pittaway.

Players of the match went to Layni Madsen (forwards) and Katie Pittaway (backs).

The Angels continue to improve and training takes place for new and existing members on Tuesday and Thursday evenings 7pm at Spring Lane. No experience needed just lots of enthusiasm.

Training for the younger ladies (U16s) on Sundays 10-3am at Spring Lane.
