A ZUMBA and clubbercise event will be raising vital funds this weekend to help those fighting bushfires in Australia.

Dawn Bate, of Crystal Beauty & Fitness, is putting on the fundraiser after being inspired by the emergency services and animal rescues working hard to save those caught up in the tragedy.

She explained: "It's two hours of fitness and fun.

"I know it's only small compared to other places but every little helps.

"I'd love to see 100 people there but even if just 10 turn up it doesn't matter, everything will help!"

DJ, Jimmy R, who has played in Ibiza and the legendary Mr Smiths Night Club, will be providing music for the action-packed afternoon.

Dawn, who also has family in Australia, added: "This is a cause close to his heart having backpacked Australia some years ago and having friends and family who live there who have been affected by the fires.

"All professionals involved in this event are not profiting and they are donating time, energy and premises out of the goodness of their heart."

The event will also include glitter and a raffle thanks to Emma Lou Body Shop and Clare Lou Photography will be documenting the upbeat atmosphere.

Instructors from Accidental Fitness Buxton are travelling to Warrington to support Dawn with her efforts.

The charity zumba and clubbercise afternoon will take place at Block1 in Bold Street on Sunday between 2pm and 4pm with doors opening at 1.30pm.

For those wanting to stay for one hour, it will cost £5 for an adult and £2.50 for children.

The full two hours will cost £10 or £5 for children.
