A hospice has teamed up with two solicitors’ firms to provide a special Will writing scheme next month.

Write a Will Month, led by St Richard’s Hospice, is set to return in February and is being run in conjunction with Bradley Haynes Law, Worcester, and WLS Solicitors, Malvern.

The scheme will see the participating solicitors offer a single Will for £95 and a double for £150 – with all of the money raised donated to the Worcestershire charity.

The month-long campaign aims to help the hospice continue funding its care to patients and loved ones, while raising awareness of the importance of writing a Will – a document setting out how people want their money, property and possessions to be distributed after their death.

Ria Simons, hospice fundraiser, said: “We are delighted to run this popular scheme once again and would like to thank the solicitors for donating their time for free.

"We understand that for some writing a Will can seem daunting – however it should not be an intimidating process.

“Once you have your Will in place it can bring peace of mind to know if you died, everything is in place for your loved ones.

“We hope our campaign will encourage people to take the first step and book an appointment, while helping to tackle the taboos around preparing for the end-of-life.”

St Richard’s is encouraging people to consider leaving a gift to the hospice in their Will – after they have provided for family and friends – although there is no obligation to do so.

To take part, call your preferred solicitors’ firm directly and make an appointment quoting the ‘St Richard’s Hospice Write a Will Scheme’.
