THE windows of a beauty salon have been smashed during a late night vandal attack.

Malvern Serenity owner Cymone Young said she was shocked by the attack which was caught on the salon’s CCTV.

Mrs Young said: “It’s had a huge impact on my business as we’ve had to get someone out to board the window up making the premises secure.

“We’re getting quotes for the glass to be replaced.

“This money is money I need to run the salon and it could’ve gone to staff training or new equipment.

“Everyone is really annoyed and clients today have had to come into the salon round the back of the building, which isn’t ideal.

Mrs Young, aged 28, from Malvern, added: “Malvern is a quiet place so it’s really shocked me.”

Dominique Young, also 28 and Mrs Young’s sister, said she was first notified of the damage.

Ms Young said: “A member of staff called me Monday morning [January 6] saying she couldn’t get into the shop as there was so much glass.

“A neighbour said they saw a grey car outside around the time of the attack.

“Customers have been really supportive and, as many of our team are young, they’ve been checking to make sure they are alright after what’s happened.

“It’s strange as whoever has done this didn’t seem to enter the salon and take anything.”

A spokeswoman for West Mercia Police, said: “On 6 January we had a report of criminal damage at a salon on Court Road Malvern.

“No entry appears to have been gained and the investigation is on-going.”
