WORCESTER Rugby Club condemned basement boys Kidderminster Carolians to a ninth straight defeat in Midlands One West.

The city side proved too strong at Marlpool Lane as they ran out 38-12 winners to claim back-to-back victories for the first time this season.

Droitwich were edged 20-19 at Old Halesonians while Hereford lost 20-7 at Ludlow.

First-half tries from Tom Hale and Max Richardson guided second-placed Malvern to a 15-5 victory at Earlsdon in Midlands Two West (South).

There was also joy for Evesham who defeated Leamington 11-6 with Ash Icke scoring the only try of the game.

Just 12 points were scored at Alcester as the hosts drew 6-6 with Ledbury in Midlands Three West (South).

Tenbury thrashed Kings North 73-0 while there were also home wins for leaders Upton-on-Severn and Pershore in Midlands Four West (South).

Upton beat Old Yardleians 13-10 to maintain their perfect start to the season and Pershore defeated Old Wheatleyans 12-8.

Midlands Five West (South) front-runners Chaddesley Corbett secured a 24-17 win at Bloxwich while Greyhound lost 26-5 at Stourport.

Elsewhere, Bromsgrove remain in the top five in the Midlands Premier following a 15-8 triumph at Doncaster Phoenix.
