ENVIRONMENTAL protesters will take to the streets of Malvern this week as part of a nationwide climate strike.

On September 20, members of Malvern Extinction Rebellion will take part in demonstrations at the same time as the strikers across the country.

The schedule for the Malvern Strike will be gathering at Barnards Green roundabout at 10:30am, marching to the top of Church Street, passing Malvern College at 11am.

The group will then pass by Malvern St. James on the way back to Barnards Green at midday before leaving Barnards Green to march past The Chase.

They will then return to Barnards Green and remain there until 2pm.

The strikers demand:

• The government must declare a meaningful climate emergency, communicating the severity of the ecological crisis to the general public.

• The government must implement a Green New Deal (creating jobs through building an infrastructure of sustainable energy)

• The education system must be reformed to address climate change as an educational priority

• Youth voices must be heard in policy making
