HOUSEHOLDS across the centre of Malvern lost water supplies for several hours after a mains burst.

A water main burst at about 6pm on Thursday at Woodshears Road, and water company engineers rushed to the spot.

A Severn Trent spokesman said this morning (Friday): “We’re really sorry to customers who were affected by a burst water pipe on Woodshears Road yesterday evening.

"Our engineers were quickly on-site after it was reported to us and worked through the night to carry out the repair.

"We’re pleased to say the pipe was fixed this morning and water supplies have been restored.”

The company received about 200 calls reporting the outage.
