Newtown Sports Junior Football Club held their annual presentation day at their home ground at Greenhill Drive in their 40th season since forming in 1979.

The formal presentation was again combined with a Fun Day which included a number of different football related and other games and activities including 'Beat the Goalie', 'Football Darts' 'Soak the Coach', 5-A-Side football matches and a 9-hole foot golf course for children and parents to enjoy as well as the favourites cake sale, tombola stalls plus many others.

Over 250 boys, girls and the newly formed ladies development squad received trophies on the day including a number of boys and coaches being awarded a long service award having attained unbroken membership for 10 years.

In addition to the girls and boys teams they have a CP(Cerebral Palsy) team who are now in their 5th year together and next season are entering the Cerebral Palsy England League.

Rob Eyles, chairman for the past 5 years is stepping down and handing the baton over to Nick Hayes-Wilson and Mike Phillips and wishes them well in the running of the club.
