The British Red Cross is set to benefit from the proceeds of a gala evening at Eastnor Castle.

The event will include music and poetry and anecdotes from the Dean of Hereford, the Very Revd Michael Tavinor.

It also includes a reception with wine and canapes hosted by the High Sheriff of Herefordshire James Hervey-Bathurst CBE DL.

The evening will be held in the Great Hall and will also benefit Herefordshire Historic Churches Trust and St John the Baptist Church in Eastnor.

The Very Revd Michael Tavinor said: “I am delighted that the work of the British Red Cross is part of the evening’s focus. How good that this evening is supporting people in need. I am delighted to be able to support three excellent causes. Our ancient churches are jewels in the crown and deserve every possible support. ”

Debra Tritton, president of the British Red Cross in Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire, said: “We are proud that the Very Revd Michael Tavinor is hosting the evening and that James Hervey-Bathurst has decided to stage a reception at Eastnor Castle.”
