THE next concert by Hanley Voices will be held in memory of choir stalwart Med Snookes, who died earlier this year.
Mr Snookes, of Castlemorton, was the former head of art at Hanley Castle High School, an inspiration to thousands of students, a prolific entertainer in his own right and a jovial, wholehearted supporter of the communities with which he was associated, said David Fawbert of Hanley Voices.
He said: "Hanley Voices will be remembering Med with the greatest respect, affection and admiration on May 10, and you may wish to join them at a concert which is solemn and yet celebratory of the music Med both enjoyed and performed."
The concert, at Upton Church at 7.30pm, will feature the Requiem by Bob Chilcott, plus a selection of choral classics.
Members of the choir will also be making a donation to Worcestershire Cancer Aid, which choir member and chairman of Malvern Hills District Council Andrea Morgan supported with a six-day tour singing in 87 churches within the district.
