Upton Marina is celebrating retaining its "Four Gold Anchors" accreditation for being well run for the 6th time.

Mayor of Upton-Upon-Severn, Councillor Simon Yates, presented the Marina team with their award last week and the Marina team said they were proud of their achievement.

Marina Manager, Nigel Webster, said: “Retaining our Four Gold Anchor accreditation is very important to us as it recognises the continued efforts of the Upton Marina team.

"Their commitment to customer service is reflected in the high standards we are able to offer our berth holders and visitors, plus the range and level of expertise that is available to them on site.”

Councillor Yates added: "As a former port and hub of marine transportation Upton has a long history in marine activities.

"We are thrilled that such a wonderful marina continues to flourish within the town.

"It is an excellent facility for the community and an asset to local business."

Managed by The Yacht Harbour Association in the UK, the Gold Anchor Scheme evaluates marinas against standards across all areas of operation including facilities, customer service and day-to-day running.

It also carries out customer feedback and mystery shopper activities to gain insight into the full customer experience and ensure staff are delivering on all aspects of service.

Upton Marina is part of Tingedene Ltd, which is a group controlling several marinas around the country.

It is also home to a fleet of day hire boats in addition to restaurant, bar, chandlery, toilet and shower facilities, plus a new laundry block planned for later this year.
