JACOB & Drinkwater are one duo really creating a buzz among folk fans.

And the good news is, they have a diary date at the Evesham Arts Centre.

A spokesman said: “Enjoy stand-out new folk from Tobias ben Jacob and Lukas Drinkwater as the Devon duo bring their energetic, spellbinding live music to Evesham’s Folk in the Foyer happening on Thursday February 21, from 8pm.

“Jacob & Drinkwater have been called ‘stand out new Folk’ by BBC6 Music and ‘inventive and thrilling’ by R2 Magazine. They’ve had glowing reviews from Radio 2’s Folk Show, BBC 6’s Tom Robinson, Amazing Radio, BBC Introducing, BBC Bristol, FRUK, Fatea, Spiral Earth, Louder Than War and ‘Whispering’ Bob TV. Now fans of live music have the chance to hear them play live in Evesham.”

The spokesman added: “Singer-songwriter Tobias ben Jacob’s original writing weaves love, nostalgia, adversity and hope - and has taken him to BBC Madia Vale Studios, Nashville Tennessee and a run of summer festivals including Glastonbury and Larmer Tree.

“ Lukas Drinkwater is known as one of the busiest musicians in the UK, a producer, performer and session player in demand in the worlds of folk and jazz; he has featured on many acclaimed albums and worked with a long list of illustrious performers.”

The duo’s dynamic live show has drawn comparisons with the pairing of John Martyn and Danny Thompson , thanks to Jacob’s sweeping vocals and Drinkwater’s nimbly rhythmic double bass, “which together never fail to captivate”.

The spokesman added: “This is an evening of music not to be missed.”
